I’ve drawn some similarities between this case and a few other murders in the state and Wyoming around the same general timeline, and tied it to the Sheep Wars. The search was called off after bloodhounds found nothing, but 7 years later, his skeleton was found - bound with wire and hanging from a tree a few miles away. His name was seen in a hotel log book in town. Reports of a man matching Marion’s description heading out of town or in Vegas were common. A lamb was found close by, with its throat cut. The blood was tested, and determined to not be human. A search party of 700 men quickly formed, but the evidence coming forward got stranger and stranger. When he found Marion’s horse, the saddle had blood on it, and his bloody pants were found a short distance away, alongside his gun. From the camp, his brother heard a single shot and thought nothing of it, until a few hours passed. He had his brother start breakfast and said he’d be back soon. In the early morning, Marion went out to shoot a coyote that he’d seen the previous night. The gist of the story is that Marion and his 14 year old brother went out herding their sheep. I actually visited the area he disappeared in quite a bit for hiking and petroglyph spotting (and for Spanish treasure hunting, obviously!), and came back a few times to film a short video. One of the weirdest cases, mentioned in the Missing 411: Western United States, was Marion Robb. I pray that they are at least given the opportunity to lay their loved ones to rest.įirst post here, I was based in Utah for a few years, where I quickly got acquainted with obscure local Wild West history. I can only imagine how heartbreaking that must be for the families who would like answers. We may never really know what is happening. I like these cases and I hope that they will continue to make documentaries on the subject. Some of it was strange but if you want to try and get answers you should be willing to think outside the box and considering how odd these disappearances are a bit of "WTF?" hangs like a cloud over the cases. I don't know what is going on but this documentary explored some of the paranormal aspects of spots where there have been clusters of disappearances dealing with hunters. I would want that if someone I loved was missing. So, when I see documentaries on the missing, I watch them. I often think about how badly they must hope the coverage of their lost loved one is reaching as many people as possible. I have a soft spot for the families of the people who has gone missing whether it be in our national parks or anywhere else. I personally think that the research that David Paulides has done is fascinating.
